Bruxism is the involuntary grinding of teeth when a person is asleep. Many individuals grind their teeth at night and are not aware that they are doing so. Bruxism can result in tooth decay because grinding strips away the outer layer of tooth enamel. Tooth grinding is completely preventable with the use of a night guard.
