What causes white spots on teeth?
White spots are often a very early sign of dental decay. When bacteria or plaque accumulate on teeth, they start to erode the dental enamel, a process known as demineralization. When the enamel is depleted, teeth become more porous. In turn, this changes the way that light refracts from teeth, leading to the development of white spots.
